ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

Wind River seeks a US-based Professional Service Member or Senior Member of Technical Staff with extensive experience in delivering and migrating customers to advanced IT Infrastructure solutions, focusing on VMware vSphere, OpenStack, or enterprise Linux software and ecosystems. You will utilize Wind River’s Cloud Platform and/or eLxr products to deliver high-performance, production-grade solutions involving KVM, Kubernetes, and enterprise Linux for managing customer application infrastructure. Candidates should have hands-on experience with software infrastructure systems, configuration management, automation, OpenStack, VMware virtualization, Debian Linux, container orchestration (Kubernetes), and runtimes (Docker). Experience with VMware Tanzu and open-source projects like Flux CD, Helm, Ansible, Python, Git, and Markdown is advantageous.

Responsibilities & Accountabilities

  • Provide technical guidance and project delivery using Wind River’s Cloud Platform and eLxr for enterprise customers, including migration projects.
  • Collaborate with project managers on planning, scheduling, risk assessment, and successful delivery.
  • Ensure high customer satisfaction during delivery engagements.
  • Engage directly with customers, resolving issues effectively.

ABOUT YOU

Qualifications & Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, Computer Science, IT, or related field.
  • Cloud certifications (AWS/Azure/GCP/VMware) or Kubernetes certifications (CKA/CKSS/CKAD).
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant customer-facing technical experience.
  • Comfort with customer interactions and issue resolution.
  • Decision-making authority and solution-driven approach.
  • Enthusiasm for working on cutting-edge technologies.
  • Expertise in Kubernetes, Docker, cloud-native tech, and storage configuration (RAID, Ceph, NFS, iSCSI).
  • Strong knowledge of compute and storage clusters, networking, security, and virtualization.
  • Experience with security tools, threat prevention, zero-trust architecture, and integration with assurance systems.
  • Ability to build and reconfigure lab environments, including servers and networking hardware.
  • Proficiency in Linux (Debian/Ubuntu, RedHat/CentOS), Python, Ansible, Flux CD, or Argo CD is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to manage multiple projects independently.
  • Willingness to travel up to 30% to customer sites.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Preference will be given to candidates familiar with platform software and the open-source community.

Compensation

The annual base salary ranges from $165,000 to $206,200 (plus bonus) in Colorado, New York, and New Jersey, and from $185,000 to $222,000 (plus bonus) in SF Bay Area, Greater Seattle, NYC, and Washington, DC. Salary is based on experience, education, skills, location, and internal equity. Benefits include health insurance, 401k, paid holidays, and more.
