Software Field Applications Engineer (FAE) is the software technical lead for a global semiconductor company, focusing on ethernet controllers/Network Interface Cards targeted towards Enterprise, Server & Storage, and AI/ML markets.
- Assist customers in qualifying and productizing ethernet controllers/NIC solutions.
- Work on driver bring-up in customer environments, optimize drivers for performance, help bring up features like RDMA, RoCEv2, congestion management, debug issues, and provide patches for workarounds.
- This role is part of the field applications engineering team within the sales organization.
- Collaborate with Field Sales Engineers and marketing to increase demand for controller products. Understand customer applications to identify key technology and product features for next-generation products.
Work closely with engineering and factory applications teams as well.
Requirements:
- Driver development, embedded software development, strong C/C++ coding skills, experience with RDMA and high-performance networking technologies (RoCEv2, Ethernet).
- Knowledge of network architecture, topologies, and congestion techniques.
- Experience debugging embedded software, knowledge of HPC and AI/ML data center operations, deep understanding of Linux kernel and networking.
- Proactive problem-solving skills, self-motivation, goal orientation.
- Analytical thinking, attention to detail, effective time management, and excellent communication skills.
Experience/Education:
Bachelor's degree preferred; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
8+ years of related experience required.
The annual base salary range for this position is $222,000, including bonuses and RSUs.
