Job Summary
The Strategic Account Manager – OEM Motors, Air & Water Moving supports the advancement of East West’s sales strategy by maintaining and expanding relationships with existing customers and growing new business within a network of industry contacts sourced from both internal and external sources. The Strategic Account Manager makes sales calls to existing customers to maintain and organically grow new business opportunities, in addition to calling on prospective customers to win new business.
Responsibilities
- Customer Relationship Management:
- Serve as the primary contact for existing OEM customers in the Motor, Air & Water Moving sectors (fans, blowers, pumps).
- Build and maintain professional relationships with key stakeholders, including C-level executives, directors, and managers.
- Address escalated issues such as quality concerns, credit, and accounts receivable.
- Sales Growth & Business Development:
- Expand business within existing accounts by proactively identifying and addressing customer needs.
- Acquire new OEM customers through direct outreach and follow-up on marketing initiatives.
- Promote Vertex EC motors and air/water moving solutions, along with East West’s full product portfolio (PCBAs, box builds, plastics, metals, rubber).
- Channel & Team Collaboration:
- Partner with East West sales reps for joint customer visits and opportunity development.
- Occasionally travel with the Senior Director of Motor Business Development for strategic sales calls.
- Collaborate daily with internal teams, including Inside Sales, Project Engineers, Project Managers, and Analysts across domestic and overseas units.
- Project & Sales Operations:
- Participate in project initiation meetings and support charter development.
- Coordinate sample shipments and manage BOMs for complex projects.
- Assist in quotation development and margin strategy with sales leadership.
- Follow up on open opportunities to drive conversions and wins.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Bachelor’s degree (preferably in Engineering).
- 2–5+ years of B2B sales experience.
- Technical aptitude and customer-facing experience in a sales role.
- Proven ability to manage technical sales and communicate requirements across cross-functional teams.
- Strong analytical skills and experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Power BI for sales trend analysis.
- Effective project management and organizational skills.
- Experience engaging with all organizational levels, including executive leadership.
- Understanding of motor product applications and sales processes.
