This position is located at the Fredericksburg Health Care Center (FxHCC) in the Spinal Cord Injury and Disorders outpatient clinic, within the Central Virginia VA Health Care System in Fredericksburg, Virginia, supporting the VA mission to care for our Veterans with compassion and excellence.

Job Details

Summary: This is an OPEN CONTINUOUS ANNOUNCEMENT open until September 30, 2025 . The initial referral cut-off is June 6, 2025 , with subsequent monthly reviews. The role involves collaboration with the Medical Directors of inpatient and outpatient SCI programs, providing supervision to Rehabilitation Therapists, and ensuring efficient program operations.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure efficient outpatient SCI&D programs, timely evaluations, and consults.
  • Perform examinations and ensure results are accessible to referring practitioners.
  • Provide direct patient care and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Schedule

Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship; non-citizens only if no qualified citizens are available.
  • Full, unrestricted medical license.
  • Completed residency in an accredited program, board certification or eligibility in Spinal Cord Injury Medicine.
  • Proficiency in English.
  • Background/security checks required.

Qualifications

Must meet basic requirements, including US citizenship, medical degree from an approved school, residency training, and licensure. Additional preferred qualifications include fellowship training in SCI Medicine and experience in outpatient rehab services.

Education

MD or equivalent from an accredited school; foreign graduates must verify ECFMG certification.
