Job Summary
Lead the Firmware development team for Etched’s Inference Accelerator ASIC. As Senior Firmware Manager, you will oversee the firmware stack including bootloaders, PCI Express, ML kernel optimization, power management, and security. Responsibilities include talent development, strategic guidance, silicon bring-up, and collaboration with design and manufacturing teams to deliver high-quality firmware.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a high-caliber firmware team.
- Build and scale the firmware team, attracting top talent.
- Define and drive the firmware strategy and development roadmap.
- Mentor team members and foster a culture of excellence.
- Manage the firmware development lifecycle from requirements to release.
- Lead silicon bring-up activities and debugging.
- Collaborate with validation teams to ensure comprehensive testing.
- Work with cross-functional teams to resolve system challenges.
- Oversee firmware release processes and resource management.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- 5+ years managing firmware or embedded software teams, especially for complex ASICs or SoCs.
- Proven ability to attract, develop, and retain talented engineers.
- Strong knowledge of embedded firmware architecture, C/C++, RTOS, bootloaders, and hardware interfaces.
- Experience with firmware lifecycle, silicon bring-up, and debugging.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
Preferred Additional Experience
- Experience with AI/ML accelerators or data-center ASICs.
- Knowledge of firmware diagnostics, security, cryptography, and manufacturing deployment.
Background
