We are seeking an experienced and driven Credit Analyst to join our senior investment team, reporting directly to the Head of Research. This individual will play a critical role in the evaluation and monitoring of credit investments across high yield bonds, leveraged loans, and preferred stocks. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of the credit markets, strong financial modeling capabilities, and a proven ability to make high-conviction investment recommendations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough bottom-up credit analysis of issuers across various sectors and capital structures.
  • Evaluate and monitor high yield bonds, leveraged loans, and preferred equity securities, focusing on risk-adjusted return.
  • Build and maintain detailed financial models, perform scenario analyses, and evaluate covenant structures.
  • Identify investment opportunities across the credit spectrum, from performing to stressed/distressed situations.
  • Prepare and present investment recommendations to the Head of Research and broader investment committee.
  • Monitor industry trends, macroeconomic factors, and company-specific developments impacting existing and prospective investments.
  • Collaborate with portfolio managers and other analysts to support portfolio construction and risk management efforts.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in credit research, investment banking, or buyside credit analysis.
  • Strong expertise in high yield, leveraged finance, and preferred securities is required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting or related field; CFA or MBA preferred.
  • Exceptional analytical, modeling, and presentation skills.
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, performance-driven investment environment.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with senior stakeholders.
