We are looking for a Regional Systems Engineer SLED to work closely with an Account Manager SLED in a defined territory. The Systems Engineer's main mission will be to support the sales organization in all technical matters regarding pre-sales, sales calls, and post-sales.

Responsibilities:

  1. Pre-sales - assist in qualifying sales leads from a technical standpoint.
  2. Sales calls - be the main technical resource on sales calls and answer or educate the customer and partner on issues ranging from features, specifications, and functionality to integration.
  3. Be conversant with networking applications and solutions.
  4. Post-sales - be the lead technical contact for identified accounts for technical issues and work closely with the technical support team and engineering to answer, escalate, and resolve customer's technical issues.
  5. Provide assistance to identified customers with post-sales training.

Required Skills:

  1. 5 - 8 years experience in technical/pre-sales support as a sales or systems engineer.
  2. 5 - 7 years experience in LAN/WAN/Internet services administration.
  3. Strong understanding of DNS, NFS, SMTP, HTTP, TCP/IP.
  4. Knowledge of technologies such as Routing, Switching, VPN, LAN, WAN, Network Security, Intrusion Detection, and Anti-Virus.
  5. Strong understanding of protocols and technologies including RADIUS, PKI, IKE, Certificates, L2TP, IPSEC, FIREWALL, 802.1Q, MD5, SSH, SSL, SHA1, DES, 3DES.
  6. Experience with encryption and authentication technologies.
  7. Strong presentation skills.
  8. The role requires the ability to work outside the office or home office, including travel to make sales.

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience. Graduate Degree is favorable.

Wage ranges are based on various factors. The target earnings for this position are expected to be $186,100 - $240,800 per year. Exact salary offers depend on the candidate's knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

All roles are eligible for the Fortinet equity program, and this position may also be eligible for commissions based on the Sales Compensation Plan.
