Job Description
In this role, you will collaborate with a team of component validation, integration, protocol test engineers, firmware developers, and system engineers to develop firmware verification test cases and evaluate end-to-end physical layer performance. Your responsibilities include designing and developing validation frameworks for 4G/5G firmware, creating and executing test cases, debugging, and analyzing issues encountered during testing. You will build test automation for 4G/5G UEs, test simulators, and gNodeBs, verifying key protocols, signal processing, and algorithms with strict timing, latency, and energy constraints. You will work with Systems and Firmware teams to validate new and existing features, develop pre-silicon emulation systems and virtual platforms for firmware design and hardware verification, and evaluate tools for build, formal verification, and testing.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and 10+ years of relevant industry experience
- Deep understanding of 4G/5G 3GPP physical layer and protocol stack procedures and configurations
- Experience in firmware test planning and feature release for 4G/5G scenarios
- Proficiency with 4G/5G signaling and physical layer test equipment and automation interfaces
- Strong debugging, analysis, and collaboration skills to resolve issues with development teams
- Fundamental knowledge of build systems and source control tools
- Ability to quickly learn new architectures and frameworks
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with network emulators, silicon prototyping, emulation systems, and virtual platforms
- Proficiency in automation tools and scripting languages such as Python, C/C++, Java
