Senior Consultant | Helping Renewable Energy Professionals Advance Their Careers

We are looking for a seasoned, construction-driven executive to take the helm as Chief Operating Officer , leading the full lifecycle execution of our solar and storage projects—from notice to proceed (NTP) through commercial operation (COD).

As COO, you won’t be stepping into a static structure. You’ll be architecting the engine that builds our portfolio. This includes scaling field ops, refining internal delivery systems, strengthening subcontractor networks, and driving high-performance culture across all active sites. You’ll work directly with the CEO and executive team to shape not just how we deliver projects, but how we scale nationally.

This is a rare opportunity for a Vice President of Construction or existing COO ready to own and scale a national EPC platform from the ground up with full visibility, executive authority, and strategic influence.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as a strategic partner to the CEO, helping shape company-wide goals with a focus on construction execution and operational scale.
• Lead and grow the Construction, Project Management, Procurement, and Field Operations teams.
• Drive continuous improvement across project delivery processes, safety protocols, and QA/QC standards.

Project Execution

• Oversee end-to-end construction execution from NTP through COD across a portfolio of utility-scale solar PV and BESS projects.
• Ensure adherence to budget, schedule, contract scope, and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor project performance through KPIs and proactively identify and resolve issues affecting timelines or cost.

EPC Coordination

• Coordinate cross-functionally with Development, Engineering, and Finance to ensure project handoffs are seamless and constructability reviews are completed early.
• Lead the interface between the EPC function to align project delivery with power sales obligations.
• Evaluate and manage key subcontractors, civil/electrical contractors, and OEM partners.
• Lead contract negotiations and ensure vendor performance meets operational standards and project goals.

Team & Culture Building

• Recruit, retain, and mentor high-performing construction management professionals.
• Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and operational excellence across all job sites and regional teams.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of experience in large-scale construction, with a minimum of 7 years in utility-scale solar or renewable EPC.
• Proven track record in managing multi-hundred MW-scale project portfolios across North America.
• Deep understanding of solar PV and BESS construction, interconnection, permitting, and site logistics.
• Experience working in an EPC contractor environment.
• Strong leadership and communication skills; able to lead teams across geographies and disciplines.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field required; MBA or PMP preferred.

Travel Requirement

Willingness to travel 25-50% to project sites, regional offices, and vendor facilities.
