Sr. Software Engineer - Elixir (Environmental Systems)

Description
This role requires skills to build complex web applications, including responsibility for the entire stack. You will apply these skills to environmental systems that support Apple's goal to become Carbon Neutral by 2030. In this role, you will:
- Plan, shape, and build new features by collaborating with users, stakeholders, and team members
- Focus on user experience through discussions with the product design team
- Write application code using Elixir, Phoenix, LiveView, TailwindCSS, and ModernSQL, with attention to detail, testing, and documentation
- Review code and collaborate on pull requests
- Continuously improve your technical skills through reading, experimentation, and collaboration
- Use tools like Kubernetes, Terraform, Ansible, and Docker for deployment and maintenance
- Support troubleshooting and fixing production issues involving applications, databases, networks, and proxies using Cloud Native technologies
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
- 10+ years of experience in software development for web applications
- Strong skills in Elixir and experience with the BEAM in production
- Extensive experience with SQL databases, preferably PostgreSQL
Preferred Qualifications
- Production experience with Phoenix
- Experience with building reliable software and deep understanding of technologies through reading documentation, source code, and articles
- Experience with LiveView is strongly preferred
- Product decision-making experience is a plus
- Experience in a Tech Lead role is a plus
Compensation and Benefits
The base pay range for this role is $207,800 to $312,200, depending on skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
