The Virtual Expert Platform (VEP) team connects customers with expert guidance across all our products—QuickBooks, TurboTax, Mailchimp, and Credit Karma. We drive a multi-billion-dollar Services business, enhance Customer Success through AI and human expertise, and provide Sales technology to connect with prospects and customers. We own the entire technology stack and collaborate closely with Product, Design, Marketing, and Operations to create seamless experiences.

What you'll bring

Required Skills/Experience

  • Deep AI expertise in building and scaling AI-native applications and models
  • Thought leadership in platform development, architecture, and scaling
  • Experience leading high-performing engineering teams
  • Deep understanding of cloud computing, microservices, and API design
  • Experience with real-time communication technologies (video conferencing, chat, messaging)
  • Knowledge of data management, analytics, and reporting
  • Experience with user authentication, authorization, and security best practices
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and influencing skills
  • Experience with Agile methodologies
  • BS in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 15+ years of software product development experience, with 3+ years in a senior leadership role

Key Focus On User And Expert Experience

  • Deep understanding of UX and UI principles
  • Focus on building intuitive and engaging interfaces for customers and experts
  • Commitment to accessibility and inclusivity
  • Domain experience in Customer Success, Sales, and Services (preferred)

AI Considerations

  • Knowledge of AI/ML applications such as user-expert matching, content moderation, personalized recommendations
  • Understanding responsible AI principles

Intuit offers a competitive compensation package, including base pay, bonuses, and benefits. The expected base pay range varies by location:

  • Bay Area, CA: $384,500 - $520,500
  • Southern California: $338,000 - $457,000

This position is eligible for additional rewards in accordance with company plans. Pay is based on experience, skills, and location.

How you will lead

  • This Head Architect role is an individual contributor focusing on architectural vision, technical strategy, and decision-making at scale.
  • Guide engineers in experimenting and building innovative AI-native experiences, emphasizing learning and adoption.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional leaders on strategy, prioritization, and delivery.
  • Partner with engineering leaders to remove roadblocks, review roadmaps, and measure success.
  • Promote technical and operational excellence through standards and continuous improvement.
  • Shape organizational structure for efficiency and success.
  • Explore and implement innovative business practices.

  • Technical Vision & Strategy: Define and champion the long-term technical vision for VEP, aligned with business goals.
  • Platform Architecture: Lead design and implementation of scalable, reliable, and secure architecture.
  • AI-Native Experiences: Lead AI-first strategy and outcomes across experiences.
  • Innovation & Capability Development: Foster innovation and develop new capabilities.
  • Team Leadership & Development: Build and inspire a high-performing engineering team.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work seamlessly with product, design, marketing, and operations.
  • Platform Stability & Performance: Ensure stability, performance, and security.
  • Data & Analytics: Define data strategy for decision-making and improvement.
  • Build vs. Buy Strategy: Evaluate third-party solutions with clear criteria.
  • Rapid Prototyping: Develop prototypes for quick iteration and optimal experiences.
