C# .Net Software Engineer with Cloud Architecture / Migration / Modernization experience sought by a top-tier FinTech / Engineering & Research firm who provide software and platforms for clients in the Quant Trading and Hedge Fund space.

My client is an established player in the sector with a 20+ year track-record and 1,000+ employees, historically based out of the UK & Europe, but who are currently in year-two a 5-year transformation and investment roadmap centred out of the US, with numerous Greenfield projects covering Middle and Back Office. The firm are renowned for hiring and retaining exceptional Computer Scientists and Engineers, providing a platform and environment to work on some of the most challenging problems in Trading and Financial Markets, but with a true Engineering and Research culture, avoiding the normal stresses and cultural issues often associated with working directly for a Trading firm or Hedge Fund.

In this instance we are looking to speak to Software Engineers / Computer Scientists with around 3-6 years post-graduate experience, possibly already working in Financial Markets, but equally from a Tech firm (i.e. Big Tech, Startup, Scaleup….). This role will suit a Software Engineer who is looking to contribute to the operational success of a leading FinTech and Research firm by developing software to compute and visualize portfolio behavior to inform Risk Management & Analytics using massive Compute-power.

Here you would support a locally-based Senior/Lead Engineer as part of a wider globally-distributed team (UK/Europe), delivering a Cloud-First Architecture for an existing Market Risk system - mapping, rearchitecting and reengineering the platform to be migrated across to the Cloud. Work would therefore include creating batch data and real-time pipelines to compute a wide variety of position and portfolio metrics, building microservices to expose large datasets in intuitive ways, and diagnosing and resolving issues impacting a live automated trading environment.

Requirements

• Expertise in Computer Science fundamentals, especially Algorithms and Data Structures, but ideally also exposed to Time & Space Complexity and Recursion,
• Excellent programming skills in at least one OO programming language, ideally C#, Scala or Java, and happy to specialise in C# .NET and the Cloud.
• Experience of Cloud rearchitecture and migration projects, with proficiency in Cloud platforms and Containerization.
• Excellent communication skills in order to thrive in a highly collegiate and collaborative working environment.
• Excellent academic record (BS and/or MS) in Computer Science or similar from a top-ranked University strongly preferred.

This role can be located in Manhattan, NYC, or Stamford, CT, with 3-4 days onsite and an Engineering-led culture including Informal dress code and excellent work/life balance. Besides an excellent base salary and annual bonus, the firm provide 25 days of paid vacation, a generous 401(k) plan, and full medical Insurance, and parental leave.

Unfortunately we cannot offer sponsorship for this positions so applicants should already hold either US Citizenship or hold a current Green Card. Relocation funding is available however for suitable applicants not currently based in NY or CT.
