What to Expect
Tesla's Drive Inverter Firmware Team is seeking an Integration Engineer responsible for ensuring firmware support for new vehicle features and hardware. The role involves designing, implementing, and testing firmware to meet Tesla's safety and customer experience standards.
The Integration Engineer will manage project milestones, coordinate contributions across teams, troubleshoot source code issues, and test prototype firmware in-vehicle.
What You'll Do
- Collaborate with design and development engineers to ensure subsystem requirements and interfaces support vehicle functions.
- Break down high-level feature requests into subsystem requirements, drive implementation, testing, and release according to Tesla's schedule.
- Analyze potential failure modes to influence design requirements.
- Develop validation strategies and work with validation teams for automated testing coverage.
- Work cross-functionally to support hardware changes in firmware for manufacturing and customer use.
- Develop and execute firmware integration test plans, providing feedback to accelerate development cycles.
- Debug system issues through data and source code analysis, proposing solutions.
- Coordinate with manufacturing and service teams for proper rollout and troubleshooting.
- Design tests with validation teams to verify system functions, interfaces, and interactions, and address bugs.
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- At least 3 years of experience in electro-mechanical project development.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Hands-on experience debugging complex networked microprocessor systems.
- Proficiency in programming, especially in C and Python.
- Ability to interpret system data for troubleshooting.
- Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical fundamentals applied to automotive systems.
- Experience with CAN tools, FMEA, and HARA is a plus.
Compensation and Benefits

Expected salary ranges from $111,200 to $433,680 annually, plus stock awards and benefits. Compensation varies based on experience, location, and other factors.
