SUMMARY OF POSITION :
We’re seeking a marketing leader obsessed with players, fans, and culture—someone who understands the magic of the Harry Potter universe and can bring it to life in a way that resonates globally. As Senior Director, Brand Management & Product Marketing – Harry Potter Franchise, you will lead the brand and marketing strategy for one of the most iconic IPs in entertainment. You’ll bring creative thinking, audience understanding, and a hands-on approach to execution.
This role requires a strategic yet scrappy individual who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and can bring clarity and impact amidst complexity. As the voice of the player, you’ll partner with studios and product teams, incorporating player needs, market insights, and competitive intelligence to shape product strategy. The goal: delight and grow our players through engaging experiences. You should be curious about players, markets, pop culture, and the evolving media landscape, with a deep care for creating fan-delighting experiences while maintaining a focus on commercial success.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :
Brand Strategy & Ownership
- Collaborate with Franchise Planning to align brand strategy with franchise direction and opportunities across WBD.
- Lead the brand and marketing strategy for the Harry Potter games portfolio, ensuring consistency, creativity, and fan-first authenticity across all touchpoints.
- Champion the Harry Potter brand internally, partnering with studios and publishing teams to ensure all outputs feel authentic and aligned with the franchise.
Go-to-Market Leadership
- Own go-to-market plans throughout each title’s lifecycle—from announcement to post-launch—defining audience, positioning, creative approach, channel mix, and budget.
- Drive innovative ideas that unify global teams around player engagement and brand growth.
- Lead cross-functional and regional teams to ensure campaigns are insight-driven, culturally resonant, and optimized for performance.
- Utilize data and audience signals for decision-making, balancing analytics with instinct.
- Brief and coordinate with teams across Studio, Growth, Performance Marketing, Market Insights, and Analytics to ensure the right tools and strategies are in place for success.
Product Marketing & Audience Fit
- Partner with Market Insights to incorporate player needs, motivations, and cultural signals into product development.
- Translate product features into compelling, player-centric messaging aligned with brand values and strategic goals.
- Represent the voice of the fan and player in all discussions, leveraging research and platform insights for relevance.
Global & Regional Collaboration
- Work closely with regional teams to deliver consistent yet locally relevant marketing campaigns.
- Understand cultural nuances and player behaviors in different territories, reflecting them in plans and assets.
Leadership & Ways of Working
- Lead and inspire the Harry Potter brand and product marketing team.
- Foster strong cross-functional relationships, promoting clarity, progress, and collaboration.
- Drive team transformation through new processes, tools, and ways of working.
Qualifications
- 10+ years in senior brand and product marketing, preferably in games, entertainment, or IP-driven categories.
- Experience leading global go-to-market strategies and cross-functional teams.
- Deep understanding of fandom, community, and creating authentic brand experiences.
- Strategic thinker with a hands-on approach.
- Proven success with beloved brands, balancing long-term brand building with short-term goals.
- Passion for storytelling, creativity, and building enduring global brands.
- Global marketing mindset with regional sensitivity.
- Ability to write positioning docs, briefs, and pitch decks confidently.
- Continuous learner, adept at blending data with instinct, and measuring success for ongoing optimization.
