Dukes Division of Hematology within the Department of Medicine offers an exciting career opportunity focusing on non-malignant hematologic disease at the main campus in Durham, NC. Candidates must be BE/BC in hematology and have completed a residency in internal medicine or an equivalent program, along with a hematology fellowship.
Our expanding clinical and research programs are seeking junior to mid-career faculty interested in joining Dukes' vibrant Hematology Division.
We are looking for faculty members with a focus on clinical practice. Key clinical and research areas include Hemostasis & Thrombosis, Cytopenias, Myeloproliferative Neoplasms, Apheresis, and Sickle Cell Disease. Teaching opportunities are available for Hematology/Oncology fellows, interns, residents, and medical students. Physicians passionate about clinical work, education, and research are encouraged to apply.
Unique opportunities within the Hematology Division include:
- Growing clinical and translational research programs complementing basic science research.
- A transition clinic with pediatrics for sickle cell disease patients, and shared clinics with maternal-fetal medicine.
- Involvement with clinical laboratory services (Coagulation and Platelet Antibody Laboratories; Transfusion Service).
- Leading clinical research studies at off-campus locations.
- Expanding telehealth opportunities.
- Participation in the apheresis service, a robust clinical and research program.
- Access to the Hemostasis & Thrombosis Core Laboratory supporting interdisciplinary research efforts.
