Summary
The Department of Diagnostic Imaging & Interventional Radiology at Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, Florida, invites applications for a full-time faculty position at the level of Assistant or Associate in the Division of Breast Imaging.
Qualifications and Experience
- Expertise in multi-modality breast imaging and image-guided breast biopsies.
- Fellowship training in breast imaging is strongly preferred.
- Experience in a multi-disciplinary academic clinical practice setting is preferred.
- MD or equivalent degree, Florida medical license or eligibility, and board certification/eligibility in Radiology.
Division and Facilities
The Division of Breast Imaging includes four state-of-the-art ultrasound units with dedicated breast sonographers, tomosynthesis-guided percutaneous biopsy equipment, a prone stereotactic core biopsy table, and 1.5 T MRI systems with MRI-guided biopsy capability. The division participates in multi-institutional clinical trials and research, supported by a fellowship program and rotating residents from the University of South Florida.
Research and Teaching Opportunities
Our department includes 45 clinical faculty members, with extensive research funding (~$7 million annually), a wet lab, animal imaging suite, and sophisticated image analysis capabilities. Academic time is provided, and PhD scientists assist with research efforts.

Moffitt Cancer Center is Florida’s only NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center, with extensive facilities including a 206-bed hospital, a blood and marrow transplant program, operating suites, ICU, screening programs, and research facilities with approximately 160 principal investigators and 58 laboratories.
Faculty are eligible for academic appointments at the University of South Florida College of Medicine. Academic rank is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
