What Will You Do?Independently performs moderate to complex welding activities, including hand welding and material handling equipmentWelds metal parts on fixtures including attaching jigs and clamps to hold metal parts in proper position Determines type and gauge of steel to be welded making appropriate heat adjustments, as required, on large thickness variationsUses blueprints and design sketches to ensure the proper dimensions and tolerance levels, as well as correct components installed on the finished productUpdates and maintains all required documentation associated with job responsibilities Assume responsibility and care of assigned tools and equipmentMaintains a clean work area and general housekeeping standards, such as care for assigned tools and proper disposal of hazardous waste Understands and practices established safety and quality standard procedures, including utilization of chemical solutions to clean containers Performs all tasks to ISO standards and requirementsMay be required to perform mass spec and visual inspections meeting stringent visual requirementsPerforms other duties as assigned (Examples include - helping to mix paint or insulating a tank). Your Experience Should Be...QUALIFICATIONS:Required•High school diploma or equivalentTIG, FLUXCORE, MIG, and sub arc welding experienceMust pass 3G weld test and other weld tests including square butt, fillet, and groove joints depending on specific job requirementsExperience interpreting blueprints and bill of materials (BOM) Basic math skills (weight measurement, volume, distance, multiplication and division)Attention to detail essentialSelf-starter capable of managing workload under minimal direction and supervisionProven ability to identify, reason and problem solve non-conformities and deviations Must be able to use and accurately measure using tape measure, micrometer and calipers
