CNC Machinist

The role offers opportunities for advancement, with various levels of responsibilities based on experience.Experience with Mazak CNC Machines with Mazatrol controls is highly preferred. AVStar utilizes Mazak: Mazak Twin Spindle, Mazak Lathe QT250, Mazak Vari-axis CNC, and Mazak Vertical Mill for our Jupiter, FL location. CMM measuring and Zoller tool set experience also a plus.Key Responsibilities: Entry-Level (C):Operate 4-axis and below mills and turning centers.Monitor multiple machines efficiently.Use mics, calipers, and basic inspection techniques.Inspect and record critical features using hand tools and comparators.Read and interpret blueprints.Preset tooling per the tool sheet.Advanced-Level (B):All responsibilities from Entry-Level (C).Perform simple setups on 4-axis and below mills and turning centers.Conduct semi-complicated prove-outs of new programs.Operate 5-axis mills and mill-turn machines.Operate Swiss machinery.Use independent judgment for tooling and work coordinates.Operate CMM for verification and perform minor CNC program edits.Advanced-Level (A):All responsibilities from Advanced-Level (B) and Entry-Level (C).Efficient setups on all CNC equipment.Perform prove-outs on complicated setups and parts.Calculate and suggest complex changes to part programs.Serve as a trainer in mechanical inspection techniques and CNC equipment.Mentor and demonstrate leadership to team members.Qualifications:Strong knowledge of blueprint reading.Solid math skills.Ability to work with a variety of CNC machinery and tools.Key Competencies:Fundamental knowledge of CNC machining principles.Mechanical inclination and problem-solving skills.Team-oriented mindset with a focus on collaboration and continuous improvement.Compensation:Starting Pay: $22.00 - $37.00/hour (commensurate with experience)Shift differentials offered for second and third shifts.Work Schedule:Monday to Thursday, 2nd Shift (4 days; 10-hour shifts)Benefits: We offer a generous benefits package, including:Health insurance with a substantial company contribution.Simple IRA retirement plan with employer match.Dental and vision insurance.Life insurance.Paid time off.9 paid holidays.Equal Opportunity Employer: AVStar is an Equal Opportunity Employer (Disability/Veteran) and is a drug-free workplace.
