SummaryThe Welder will weld, cut, and braze metal pieces and products by using flame-cutting and hand welding equipment.Job ResponsibilitiesPlans details of work order procedures; gathers required tools and materials based on instructions and specifications provided for the job.Repairs and fabricates various items and equipment using cutting, burning, and welding techniques and equipment.Monitors the welding, burning, and fitting process to ensure parts are not overheated or damaged by warping, distortion, expansion, or shrinkage.Prepares, assembles, and tacks weld parts and surfaces to be welded.Maintains, organizes, and cleans equipment and the work area.Notifies supervisor when faulty equipment or defective materials are discovered.Performs other related duties as assigned.RequirementsMinimum QualificationsGood communication (written and verbal) skills and the ability to speak read and write Basic English.Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.Must be a self-motivated, dependable, team oriented person with a positive Can Do attitude who can be effective under pressure.Ability to work as a team with other personnel assigned to the job6 months consecutive experience in production is ideal, but not requiredWillingness to work overtime.Participate in insuring a safe work environment through promoting all company safety policies.Ability to be patient, calm and helpful with internal and external customers to resolve issues in a constructive manner.High School Diploma/GED is preferred, but not requiredAbility to comprehend and implement oral instructions quickly.Ability to perform mathematical calculations and to comprehend measurementsGood eyesight or wear corrective lenses as seeing is essential to the job. Applicant must be able to have clear vision at 20 feet or more and have good depth perception to judge distance and space relationships.Ability to read a tape measure.Knowledge of compass directions.Must be able to pass a stick or mig weld test prior to employment.Certification preferred but not required.1-5 years of welding experience preferred.
