POSITION SUMMARYThe purpose of this position is to perform basic setup and/or maintenance of tooling and equipment in order to support manufacturing.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIESSafetyFollows plant safety procedures and guidelinesKnow emergency procedures and what to do in the event of power outages, machine failures, workplace injuries, etc.Wears and utilizes personal protective equipment (PPE) as requiredUnderstand and identifies Lock-out/Tag-out proceduresInforms supervisor of safety issues; reports any workplace injury or incident immediatelyActively participates in the D&W safety improvement process/activities, e.g. Hazard Identification, Safety Suggestions, Safety Teams, etc.TaskCompletes all required documentation pertaining to setups and removing diesMaintain and provide general maintenance of the dies/pressesGuides Machine Operators on troubleshooting effortsFollow plant quality practices including Good Manufacturing Practices, or GMP'sAbility to set/insert/remove molds and/or diesExamine products to verify conformance to quality standardsMaintains his or her work area in a neat conditionMold and trim die preparationInspect and/or clean molds and return them to storage racksPerforms tool changes and final adjustmentsPerforms troubleshooting and adjustment of processing problemsSupport company Food Safety efforts through commitment and compliance to SQF standard practices and policiesQUALIFICATIONS1.Willingness to work and follow verbal/written instructions2. Basic computer skills3. Must be able to read, write and speak English4. Forklift certification may be required5. Read blue prints and other necessary documentationEXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND/OR LICENSING/CERTIFICATIONHigh School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate)WORK ENVIRONMENTWhile performing the duties of this position employee may be exposed to extreme heat, moving mechanical parts and products with sharp edges.
