This role is essential for caring for adult patients requiring additional observation to assess whether their condition necessitates hospitalization or if they can be safely discharged. The RN will work on a rotating schedule that includes days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays. Key Responsibilities: - Provide comprehensive nursing care for a diverse adult patient population in an observation setting.- Assess, monitor, and document patient conditions and treatment responses.- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.- Manage patient turnover efficiently, with an average of 20 to 27 patients per day and an average stay of 27 hours.- Maintain a high standard of care in a unit with 24/7 provider coverage. Qualifications: - Active RN License in New York.- Minimum of two years of Med/Surg nursing experience.- Proficient in telemetry.- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) is required.- NIHSS certification is preferred. Skills: - Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
