Full-time Machinist/ProgrammerJob OverviewWe are seeking a skilled and experienced Full-time Machinist/Programmer to join our dynamic manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in CNC machining, programming, and inspection techniques. This role requires a combination of hands-on machining skills and advanced programming knowledge to produce high-quality parts and components for various industries.Key ResponsibilitiesOperate and program CNC machines, including mills and lathesDevelop and optimize CNC programs using CAD/CAM softwareSet up machines for production runs, including tooling and workholdingPerform quality inspections on machined parts using various measuring instrumentsInterpret technical drawings, blueprints, and engineering specificationsTroubleshoot and resolve machining issues and equipment malfunctionsMaintain accurate documentation of machining processes and quality control dataCollaborate with engineering and production teams to improve manufacturing processesEnsure compliance with safety regulations and company policiesTrain and mentor junior machinists and operatorsDetailed Role DescriptionCNC ProgrammingAs a Machinist/Programmer, you will be responsible for creating, modifying, and optimizing CNC programs for various machining operations. This includes:Utilizing CAD/CAM software to develop efficient and accurate CNC programsWriting and editing G-code and M-code for CNC machinesSimulating and verifying programs to ensure proper tool paths and avoid collisionsOptimizing cutting parameters for improved cycle times and tool lifeDeveloping and maintaining a library of proven programs for repeat jobsStaying current with the latest programming techniques and software updatesCNC Machine Operation and Set-upYou will be expected to operate and set up various CNC machines, including:Preparing machines for production runs by selecting and installing appropriate toolingSetting up workholding devices and fixtures to secure workpiecesInputting and verifying program parameters on machine controllersPerforming tool offsets and making necessary adjustments during machiningMonitoring machine performance and making real-time adjustments as neededConducting regular maintenance and basic repairs on CNC equipmentQuality InspectionEnsuring the quality of machined parts is a crucial aspect of this role. You will be responsible for:Performing in-process and final inspections of machined componentsUsing precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and CMMsInterpreting geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) specificationsDocumenting inspection results and maintaining quality control recordsIdentifying and reporting non-conforming partsParticipating in root cause analysis and implementing corrective actionsContinuous Improvement
