Travel RN - Labor & Delivery

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring 2 years of L&D experience, current BLS and NRP certifications, and Cerner charting proficiency.Job Details•Work in a hospital Labor & Delivery unit specializing in high-volume births (200-300 per month),•Patient population includes a wide variety of high-risk obstetric cases such as diabetes mellitus, multiple gestation, pre-eclampsia, placenta previa/abruption, preterm labor, and VBAC management,•Performs specialized procedures including external and internal fetal monitoring, IUPC placement and calibration, drawing venous blood, IV starts, amnioinfusion, forceps/vacuum extraction, and newborn assessments,•Uses Cerner electronic medical records; prior Cerner experience required,•Night shifts available with options for 3x12 or 4x12 hour schedules,•May float to an affiliate hospital's ED to provide OB-specific care with support, without taking a primary assignment,•All travelers are required to float within the main hospital or to affiliate sites as needed,Job Requirements•Active RN license in hand (IN or Compact),•Minimum 2 years L&D RN experience including travel nursing experience,•Current Basic Life Support (BLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certifications, and AWHONN Beginner level required,•Proficiency in Cerner EMR required,•Degree must be from ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program,•Must provide two supervisor references for consideration,•First-time travelers not accepted,•Indiana residents are considered local and are not eligible for this travel role,•Any perm or PRN employee must be away from IU for 12 months before applying as a traveler,Additional Information•Perform care for patients experiencing a range of obstetric emergencies, including hemorrhage, uterine rupture, and pre/postoperative C-section management,•Float orientation required before first shift at affiliate hospital,•Must work at least 2 of 3 major holidays during contracted period,•All required modules must be completed pre-start, averaging 8-16 hours,•Free staff parking available on site,•Scrub color requirements will be provided by facility prior to start,•No local candidate radius exceptions for L&D roles
