American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Adult ICU Float Pool position requiring recent cardiac device competencies and ICU experience.Job Details•Work in the Adult ICU Float Pool of an acute care hospital setting,•Floats between 6 different ICU units and the Cardiomyopathy IMC unit (Pratt 8),•Patient population includes critical care and intermediate level trauma patients with cardiac focus,•Manage devices such as Impella, CVVH, IABP, and LVADs,•Nurse-to-patient ratios are 2:1 or 1:1 depending on acuity,•12-hour day/night rotating shifts from 7am-7:30pm and 7pm-7:30am with every other weekend required,•No on-call or standby requirements,•Uses Cerner (Soarian 2010) EMR system,•Care for post-operative cardiac patients and titrate advanced critical care drips including Levo, Vaso, Neo, and Propofol,•All units have 24/7 intensivist and respiratory therapy support,Job Requirements•Active RN license required,•Current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required,•Minimum of 2 years of ICU experience including recent (within 6 months) experience with Impella, CVVH, IABP, and LVAD devices,•Strong cardiac background with ability to care for post-operative cardiac patients,•Experience with Cerner EMR preferred,Additional Information•Three orientation shifts provided to familiarize with each unit,•Expected to float between at least two ICUs per shift,•No scrub color preference, but attire cannot display other facility logos,•Holiday coverage required for one major winter and one major summer holiday,•First-time travelers will be considered,•Local candidates are accepted, but terms may differ based on distance to facility,•Collaborative team environment with charge nurse, aides, and 24/7 physician and RT support present
