Vehicle Provided ~ Clothing Allowance ~ PPE ProvidedComprehensive Benefit Package including:Medical, dental, vision insurance401(k) planPaid holidaysLife, Short- and Long-term disability insurance with company-paid premiumsEmployee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP)Employee Assistance ProgramWellness ProgramCompany supported Professional DevelopmentPersonal Protective Equipment providedCareer AdvancementThe preferred candidate:At least 2 years of surveying experienceAutoCAD software experienceSurveying / Engineering college coursework or commensurate experienceDUTIESFollow all corporate and job site safety proceduresKnowledgeable of surveying ethics and technical standardsBasic knowledge of the terminology and principles of conventional draftingUnderstands basic plan reading and preparation (e.g., site plans, boundary plans, highway plans, profile and cross sections, horizontal and vertical curves, pipeline plans, foundation plans, and developing existing and finished contours)Understands basic plan reading and preparation for take-offs, calculations, and proposalsKnows principles of staking and marking, and basic sources of measurement errorsReview field data to ensure all applicable standards are metProcess and reduce field data for importation into AutoCADResearch deeds and land records, and prepare deed composites to use in field reconnaissance and boundary determinationKnows how to interpret control point records and data sheets, as well as locate points in the fieldPerform and check survey calculations including volumes and areasPerform computations of line and grade to support construction layoutPrepare final survey documents, drawings and reports in accordance with applicable standardsEffectively communicate with professional staff regarding projectsMaintain equipment by cleaning, completing preventative maintenance and performing calibrationsStrive to make each project profitableQUALIFICATIONSEducationHigh school diploma or equivalentAdditional courses in mathematics and surveying are preferredExperience2 years of survey work experience; office survey computation and AutoCAD software experienceAdditional RequirementsMust possess a valid driver's license and the ability to safely operate a motor vehicleMust possess the ability to read, write and perform basic mathMust be comfortable communicating with the publicMust be comfortable with regular use of email, internet and basic Microsoft Office applicationsWork is performed under all weather conditions, often on busy streets or construction sites, involves extensive standing and walking, and includes clearing brush, working in difficult terrain, manholes and on difficult slopes. May be required to push, pull, lift, and/or carry up to 50 pounds. Occasional office work may be required. Work may routinely require the employee to sit, stand, walk, climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl. The employee is regularly required to talk and hear and frequently required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Required vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
