We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced CNC Swiss Programmer to join our growing precision machining team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in programming and operating Star Swiss-type machines using PartMaker CAM software . This role is critical in supporting the production of complex medical components with tight tolerances and high precision.
  • Develop and optimize CNC programs for Star Swiss-type screw machines using PartMaker CAM software .
  • Interpret engineering drawings, CAD models (SolidWorks), and specifications to design efficient machining processes.
  • Select appropriate tooling, speeds, and feeds to maximize machine performance and tool life.
  • Set up and operate Star Swiss machines, including tool changes, offsets, and program debugging.
  • Perform detailed Tool-by-Tool analysis and create documentation to support machining strategies.
  • Conduct first-article inspections and ensure components meet all dimensional and quality requirements.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve machining or programming issues to minimize downtime.
  • Collaborate closely with Engineering, Quality, and Production teams to ensure optimal process outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate records of programs, tooling, and setup instructions.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on process optimization and cost reduction.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience programming and operating CNC Swiss machines , specifically Star machines .
  • Proficient in PartMaker CAM software ; multi-channel programming experience is highly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of G-code programming and CNC control systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and technical specifications.
  • Experience using precision measurement tools and conducting in-process inspections.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving ability and attention to detail.
  • Capable of working independently while also contributing to team success.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment , ideally medical device or aerospace.
    • Familiarity with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
    • Understanding of ISO 13485 or FDA QSR requirements is a plus.
