Installs, tests, repairs, and maintain visual monitoring systems in support of FAA security system. Supports computer-based runway condition monitoring system (SCAN). Supports and conducts training for the Flight Information Display systems. Tests and repairs electrical and electronic devices and equipment on the airport, including jetbridges, HVAC equipment, remote alarms, and lighting systems. Essential Functions Install and perform operational checks of alarm and FAA certified intrusion detection systems. Make adjustments, repair, and replace system components; Monitor and maintain other airport standalone computer-based surveillance and control systems including runway sensor monitoring systems, flight information display systems, baggage information systems, Texas Law Enforcement Terminal System (TLETS), and passenger loading bridge control systems; Serve as focal point for PC-based flight information systems training; Perform minor electrical repairs and maintenance of airport power and communication cabling systems; Establish, maintain, and resupply an inventory of replacement parts and components for security systems to insure operational readiness; Coordinate outside maintenance and repair with factory authorized service centers for major equipment. Prepare technical specifications for acquistion and replacement of electronic and mechanical security systems; Maintain electrical entry/exit access control system for airport parking lot; Perform bench checks of electronic security equipment; Coordinate radio communication system maintenance for Department of Aviation; Recommend system alterations and replacement; Maintain time and material records; Perform related duties as required. Qualifications Completion of a high school diploma or the equivalent. with an additional one year of experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electronics equipment; or any combination of relevant education and experience which provides the following: Valid Current Driver's LicensePhysical Exam Required Knowledge and Abilities Knowledge of: Practices of electrical repair (120v, 240v, and 480v).Ability to: Communicate effectively with others. Use a variety of test equipment. Physical Requirements: Frequently walk and stand during the shift; Frequently climb stairs, ladders, and other inclined surfaces; Frequently bend and kneel during the shift; Continuously lift and carry up to 25 pounds; Frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds; Push and pull objects; Frequently flex upper trunk to forward at the waist and partially flex at the knees; Frequently rotate upper trunk to the left or right while sitting or standing; Place arms above, at, or below shoulder height; Coordinate eye, hand, and foot movement in order to operate a vehicle.
