American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery role in an acute care family birthing center, requiring LDRP proficiency and the ability to circulate C-sections.Job Details•Work in a Family Birthing Center encompassing Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, and Obstetrics within an acute care hospital setting,•Unit features 10 L&D beds, 2 OR suites for C-sections, 3 OB-ED triage beds, and 12 postpartum beds,•Caseload includes approximately 100-150 births per month with couplet care and a variety of OB cases including preterm labor, inductions, and cesarean sections,•Nurse-to-patient ratios include 1:3-4 couplets in postpartum, 1:1-2 for L&D, and 1:1-3 for antepartum patients,•Requires reading and interpreting EKG strips in the PACU and titrating drips such as Pitocin,•Uses GE Corometric fetal monitoring and Cerner EMR systems,•12-hour day shifts with every other weekend (EOW) required; holidays rotated with staff,•On-call may be required with a 30-minute response time,•Floating may be required to other Sacramento facilities; no in-house floating,•Scrubs are provided,Job Requirements•Active CA RN license or Compact (NLC) license in hand at time of consideration; pending licenses not accepted,•Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience required,•Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN-Advanced Fetal Monitoring,•Ability to independently circulate for C-sections and provide comprehensive LDRP care,•Experience with Cerner EMR and fetal monitoring equipment preferred,•Must be able to read and interpret EKG strips in the PACU setting,•Two professional references required: one supervisor reference from the past 12 months and one peer or supervisor reference from the past 3 years,•Candidates may not have been directly employed by any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facility within the past year,Additional Information•Position involves caring for a high-risk patient population and managing start-to-finish cases, including circulating C-sections and providing couplet care,•Supported by dedicated OB surgical techs, charge nurses, and 24/7 in-house OB hospitalist and anesthesia coverage,•Neonatologist available on call 24/7 with daily rounds,•Required to pass facility-based clinical assessments, including dysrhythmia and sterile technique exams, prior to working independently,•Report is conducted at the bedside at the start of each shift,•Holiday coverage is expected on a rotating basis with staff,•Candidates employed PRN through outside agencies in the last year may still be considered
