Founded in 1963, Townley Engineering & Manufacturing is a rapidly growing, American-made solutions expert for wear and abrasion problems found in the mining, dredging, and power industries. We have an opening for a Welder. Responsibilities include: Clamp, hold, tack-weld, heat-bend, grind or bolt component parts to obtain required configurations and positions for welding. Inspects and measures machined work pieces to verify conformance to specifications. Remove rough spots from work pieces, using portable grinders, hand files, or scrapers. Chip or grind off excess weld, slag, or spatter, using hand scrapers or power chippers, portable grinders, or arc-cutting equipment. Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions. Replaces worn machine accessories such as cutting tools or brushes. Uses equipment and supplies to perform work in accordance with operational standards. Examines finished work pieces to verify conformance with specifications Reports defective materials or questionable conditions to Manager. Operate and maintain robotic welding equipment Set up welding equipment and adjust settings as needed Monitor the welding process to ensure quality and accuracy Perform routine maintenance on welding equipment Adhere to all safety guidelines and regulations Complying with internal policies and industry regulations Follow instructions and/or direction given by supervisors to complete assigned work projects Ensure work area is clean and safeRequirements: 2 years of welding experience Ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted Ability to read tape measure, micrometers, calipers, and gauges Ability to stand for extended periods of time on concrete Ability to tolerate excess heat and humidityPhysical Requirements: Must be able to lift 50 pounds unassisted. Physical capability to properly handle tooling and safely set up large pieces; including lifting, pushing, pulling, and positioning products.
