Founded in 2020, Alloy is a 45-person hardtech startup that has raised over $50M in capital and is shipping components to customers manufacturing servers, lasers, semiconductor equipment, and defense systems.About the roleReporting to the Director of Parts Production, the CNC Machinist will be responsible for the programming and operation of Alloy's CNC machines in-house CNC shop. This person will provide feedback to the applications engineering team regarding part feasibility, and machinability while finding creative and scalable solutions to support Alloy's Stack Forging process. This is a critical role in Alloy's production operation, influencing the manufacturing process of nearly every part delivered. This role requires 5 days onsite per week.Responsibilities*Responsibilities are subject to change based on shifting business needs.Engage with Sales and Applications Engineering in pre-sales discussions, offering feedback to facilitate the manufacturing of customer parts.Program and cut parts, purchase materials and tooling. Alloy currently programs with CAMWorksIdentify and implement novel fixturing solutions for parts that will be difficult to indicate repeatablyCooperatively work with the Engineering and Quality Teams to correctly dimension drawings and create datums that will match manufacturing workflowsGenerate accurate forecasting and scheduling of production workStay digitally organized, updating work statuses, best practices for file storage and traceabilityBe an active member of the Safety Committee, owning safety and training within the machine shop.What you'll bring7+ years of CNC Programming and Machining experience including tooling selection and setupExperience in setup and machining of aluminum castings or other parts where each piece of starting material is slightly differentExperience in setup and machining of parts that have been 3D printedAbility to use precision measuring instruments to verify product qualityExperience with troubleshooting and problem-solving in a machining environmentExperience with the development and execution of programming, processing, operational/set-up sheets, and work instructions as related to the manufacturing of orders utilizing our ISO proceduresExperience developing manufacturing plans for high-volume productionAdditional requirementsThis position will require access to information subject to control under U.S. export control laws and regulations, including the Export Administration Regulations ("EAR") and International Traffic in Arms Regulations ("ITAR").
