Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Amada Punch and Laser Programmer to join our fabrication team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating, modifying, and optimizing CNC programs for Amada turret punch presses and laser cutting machines. This role requires a solid understanding of sheet metal design, fabrication processes, and CNC programming, with a strong emphasis on quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement.

Role And Responsibilities

Create and optimize CNC programs for Amada punch and laser machines using CAM software (e.g., Amada AP100, Dr. ABE, or similar).

Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work orders to develop accurate part programs.

Nest parts efficiently to minimize material waste and maximize machine productivity.

Collaborate with engineers, machinists, and production team to ensure programming meets quality and production requirements.

Maintain and update the programming database and tooling libraries.

Troubleshoot programming issues and recommend solutions to improve cut quality and machine performance.

Ensure compliance with safety and manufacturing standards.

Assist in machine setup and operation when needed.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or certification in CNC programming or manufacturing technology preferred.

2+ years of experience programming Amada punch and/or laser machines.

Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, GD&T, and technical drawings.

Experience with Amada CAM software (e.g., AP100, Dr. ABE, or similar nesting and programming software).

Solid understanding of sheet metal fabrication processes and materials.

Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.

Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives is a plus.
