Spherion is seeking a temp to hire, full-time CNC Machinist for a Manufacturing Company in Lafayette, LA.Shift: Monday-Friday (6a-5p) and every other Saturday 1/2 dayPay Rate: $20-30hr. Depending on experienceResponsibilities:- Machining parts to specifications- Setting up and operating CNC Mills and/or Lathes to fabricate metallic and non-metallic parts- Calculating dimensions and tolerances using Measuring and Testing Equipment (MTEs).- Maintaining quality and safety standards- Checking each part and recording their measurements- Maintaining traceability on the product and documentation-Troubleshooting machining issues, adjust machine settings, and reprogram controls as needed.-Performing preventative maintenance and service on machines and equipment-Regulating machining factors like speed, feed, coolant flow, depth and angle of cut.-Entering commands, retrieve, input, and edit CNC media, detect errors and make adjustments as necessary. -Collaborating with supervisors and machinists on projects and production-Assisting in general housekeeping and making suggestions for improvement of machining, quality, and safety processes.Working hours: 6:00 AM - 5:00 PMSkills:Formal training in programming and operating CNC machines preferred.Minimum 2 year experience operating CNC machines preferred.5 Axis machining experience preferred.Education:High SchoolExperience:1-4 yearsQualifications:High school diploma or equivalent Capable of holding close tolerances required.Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating andmaintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.Can use and understand inspection tools and interpret blueprints.Ability and desire to work overtime and weekends as required.Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize work independently and establish goals and objectives with little or no supervisionMust have good math skillsMust have good understanding of CAD/CAM technology, good mechanical and technical skillsMust have the ability to recognize when there is a problem and communicate the existence of a problem with expedience.Operate a forkliftEffective writing and communication skillsCapable of managing and completing multiple tasks accurately and expeditiouslyDetail-orientedClose attention to accuracyApply at has helped thousands of people just like you find work happiness!
