Travel: This position will require domestic travel up to 50%. What’s the role? As an Applications Engineer, you will be part of a vital team at Carl ZEISS IQS, showcasing your skills in process enhancement. You will assist customers and our ZEISS Sales team with pre- and post-sales application engineering activities, such as product demonstrations, proofs of concept (POC), and sales support. Post-sales, you will help customers understand and apply our hardware and software systems through demonstrations, custom support classes, and on-site assistance. This consultative role requires professionalism and a customer-oriented approach. Responsibilities include: Providing technical consultation and support to customers and sales personnel on advanced applications and systems. Assisting with ZEISS Calypso programming as needed. Facilitating the flow and accuracy of technical information. Focusing on advanced applications and new ZEISS technology. Supporting project work utilizing ZEISS systems, including responding to customer software/application support requests and internal department needs. Providing application expertise for project activities, analyzing inspection requirements. Performing Gage R&R studies. Supporting IT-related issues, including Windows OS, networking, and database management. Qualifications: A four-year degree in Engineering, Math, Physics, or a related technical field is preferred; equivalent industry experience is acceptable. Ability to read engineering drawings and interpret GD&T. Strong inspection or metrology skills and manufacturing industry experience. Proficiency with computer software and data analysis tools. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to learn independently. Experience with ZEISS Calypso software and CMM programming is a plus. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
