Job Description
The Pastry Cook 2 supports pastry production and service by prepping ingredients, assisting in the execution of recipes, and maintaining a clean, organized work environment. This entry-to-mid-level role is ideal for candidates looking to grow in a structured, creative, and high-performance pastry team.
This full-time position has an hourly rate of $30.00 per hour.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Scale and prepare ingredients for desserts, breads, and baked goods as directed
  • Assist in assembly and plating of desserts during service
  • Follow recipes and plating guides with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Maintain cleanliness of tools, prep areas, and pastry storage throughout shift
  • Label, date, and store all items in accordance with kitchen protocols
  • Support daily mise en place and assist with banquet or special event prep as needed
Qualifications
  • 1-2 years of pastry experience in a professional kitchen or bakery
  • Basic understanding of pastry terminology, techniques, and tools
  • Desire to learn and improve under supervision of senior pastry staff
  • Punctual, organized, and committed to sanitation and quality standards
SKILLS
  • Basic to intermediate knowledge of pastry production methods
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt under direction
  • Consistent execution and follow-through on prep and plating tasks
  • Team-oriented mindset with a strong work ethic
  • Reliable, punctual, and detail-conscious
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • Endure various physical movements throughout the work areas
  • Ability to move safely in uneven terrain or in confined spaces
  • Remain active, constantly moving, or prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer throughout work shift
  • Medium Work: Exerting up to 40 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of constantly moving objects, may occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
