Description of Work
"This position is designated Mandatory and must report or stay over during adverse weather events."
This supervisor position is responsible for over seeing meal preparation, kitchen housekeeping, and food service activities including, but not limited to supervising cooks, inspecting quality of food prepared, ensuring cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen equipment, requisitioning recipe ingredients, and managing tray line set up. The supervisor also serves as back up for the cooks as needed.

Work Hours: 8:45 AM - 5:45 PM ( and work every third weekend)

- Basic knowledge of the use and adaptability of various pieces of kitchen equipment.
- Ability to instruct cooks in proper cooking methods and to direct and supervise kitchen personnel in serving/cleaning activities.
- Ability to evaluate levels of sanitation and food safety and implement corrections when warranted.
- Ability to follow prescribed menus and recipes, as well as specific oral and written instructions.
- Ability to effectively manage and direct food service employees.
- Ability to prepare routine reports and to compute food quantities, for special diets and/or regular menus.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds;
- Ability to stoop, bend, and walk short distances carrying pans of food.
