Regulatory Capital & Reporting Specialist
We are seeking a seasoned Regulatory Capital & Reporting Specialist with a keen eye for detail and deep expertise in regulatory compliance. This critical role ensures the bank and its holding company meet all regulatory capital requirements while optimizing capital structure and delivering timely, accurate regulatory filings.
Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor evolving capital regulations and collaborate with Finance, Risk, and other stakeholders to ensure full compliance.
  • Lead the production of Schedule HC-R of the FFIEC 051/041 and FR Y-9C report (as applicable), including RWA calculations, analysis, and control processes.
  • Drive strategic improvements in capital adequacy and risk-weighted asset efficiency, delivering recommendations to senior leaders and head office.
  • Prepare, review, and submit all required FRB, OCC, and FDIC regulatory reports, ensuring alignment with governance standards.
  • Enhance reporting platforms through automation, process refinement, and system optimization.
  • Track regulatory developments via industry and regulatory body engagement; assess internal impact and guide compliance initiatives accordingly.
  • Act as a liaison for the CFO in managing regulatory and audit-related inquiries, including communications with FRB, OCC, FDIC, and internal auditors.
  • Identify risk areas in reporting practices and implement corrective actions to maintain high compliance standards.
  • Prepare liquidity reporting to support ALCO, including monitoring of liquidity metrics, LCR, NSFR against policy limits
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (advanced degree/CPA/CFA is a plus).
  • 5-7+ years in regulatory reporting or financial reporting within the banking (ideally) or financial services industry.
  • Familiarity with key reports such as FFIEC 051/041, FR 2900, FR Y-9C, FR Y-12, FFIEC 009, TIC Reports, BE-605, BE-15, with an ability to interpret regulatory instructions.
  • Skilled in MS Office and regulatory reporting tools (e.g., Fed Reporter, Smart Y-9, Axiom). Experience with FIS Horizon is a plus.
  • Sound knowledge of financial instruments including loans, securities, deposits, and derivatives.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and multitasking skills; capable of balancing production and governance responsibilities.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex regulatory matters to senior leadership and external regulators.
