Martin/Martin is looking for an experienced structural bridge engineer to join our Lakewood, Colorado office. This engineer will have the opportunity for bridge structural design supporting internal land development and transportation design groups as well as completing bridge design work directly for public and private clients. Martin/Martin is a leading civil/structural consulting firm in the region and is client-focused and employee-centered. This candidate will possess strong written, technical, and interpersonal skills as well as having excellent time management and organization skills.

Examples Of Responsibilities

  • Manage task assignments for the bridge team including preparation of design calculations, development of design drawings, specifications, and cost estimates.
  • Coordinate work internally with our bridge operations team.
  • Monitor project progress to deliver the contracted scope of projects on time and within budget.
  • Coordinate design work of civil structures internally with transportation and development teams.
  • Provide quality control plans and checking.
  • Provide technical direction and on-the-job training to members of the Bridge Team.
  • Oversight and checking of analysis modeling of complex bridges and other structures.
  • Coordination with other design disciplines.
Requirements
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering with a structural engineering focus.
  • Minimum of 9 years of experience in progressive bridge and transportation design.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of AASHTO, AISC and FHWA codes and standards.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Colorado or ability to obtain within one year.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project software and other general software.
  • Experience in bridge design using structural steel, cast in place concrete, and prestressed concrete.
  • Experience with structural analysis software packages; for example, Midas, Bentley's Conspan, and RCPier, CSI Bridge, SAP 2000, AASHTOWare BrR and BrD, BRASS-Girder, BRASS-Culvet, BRASS- Pier.
  • Demonstrated innovative solutions for complex structural engineering problems.
  • Excellent analytical, technical skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently with multiple priorities.
  • Attention to detail, delivering quality work products, and excellent client services.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Master's Degree in Civil Engineering with Structural Engineering focus.
  • Highway and railway bridge inspection and rating skills.
  • Experience in managing and developing a production team.
  • Proficient with MicroStation, Civil 3D and AutoCAD.
  • Experience in management of bridge projects as a part of larger transportation infrastructure projects.
