The Certified Medical Assistant is responsible for providing high quality direct patient care and assisting providers and other clinical staff with patient care and other clinical and administrative duties in a professional manner. Ability to competently and skillfully perform all clinical and clerical functions including, but not limited to: vital signs, patient interview, electronic documentation, screening tools, lab/specimen prep, point of care collection and processing. Must provide age-appropriate care in a manner that demonstrates an understanding of the functional/developmental age of the patient served.

Certified Medical Assistant Essential Functions:

  • Completes a broad variety of administrative tasks and clinical duties including but not limited to obtaining and recording patient medical histories, receiving, and directing phone calls, ensuring successful completion of all forms
  • Maintaining medical supplies inventory and performing preventive maintenance to keep the medical equipment operating
  • Preparing patients for examination by performing physical tests, take vitals, reporting patient history summary
  • Preparing treatment rooms for clinical examinations
  • Delivering attention, compassionate support, and assistance to patients and families
  • Ensuring compliance with all healthcare regulations including HIPPA, OSHA, etc.
  • Aides staff, physicians, and other faculty as needed
  • Performs additional job-related duties as assigned
Certified Medical Assistant Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Firm grasp on medical practices, administrative processes, and organizational policies
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proficient in administrative tasks
  • Must be highly organized and detail-oriented; demonstrating leadership to maintain credibility
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and digital record systems
  • Ability to communicate effectively and verbalize ideas
  • Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion, be adaptable to various competing demands and demonstrates the highest level of customer/client service and response
  • Demonstrates ability to achieve high performance goals and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Requirements
  • Medical Assistant Certification or Registration required
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • One year of prior experience in a medical setting preferred

$18-$21
