Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and cook a variety of meals in accordance with our established recipes and dietary guidelines.
  • Ensure all food preparation areas are clean and sanitized in compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with dietitians and healthcare staff to create meal plans tailored to patients' dietary needs.
  • Monitor food quality and presentation before serving and during meal times, ensuring the highest standards are met.
  • Assist in inventory management, including ordering, receiving, and storing food and supplies efficiently.
  • Provide support in the training and onboarding of new kitchen staff in food preparation and safety procedures.
  • Participate in menu planning and special event catering, contributing creative ideas and feedback on dishes.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Culinary Degree a plus
  • Must be Food Protection Management Certified.
  • Must have 3 plus years institutional food service experience, including knowledge of food production, therapeutic diets, and sanitation.
  • Must be able to work flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, depending upon the needs of Coryell Health and its long-term facility as directed.
  • Must be able to read, write, and communicate orally in English.
