Job description

This opportunity is in support of an active DoD missile contract as a software controls developer on our Guidance, Navigation and Control (GNC) team. You will develop, implement, and test algorithms for GNC systems closely with technical leadership. The role involves a combination of individual contribution and teamwork roles. As an individual contributor, you will be part of a small business, directly working with the DoD customer, suppliers and you will have daily interaction with the leadership of the company. As a team member, you will be collaborating with the larger multidisciplinary team involving the Chief Engineer, software engineers, aeronautical engineers and modeling engineers. You must work on-site in our office in Fairfax, Virginia.

Salary is in excess of $80K annually with benefits, with the salary level based on the experience of the candidate.

Qualifications

EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field with a focus on control systems and/or related experience.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  Minimum of 1-5 years of experience in control systems design, preferably in aerospace, defense, or robotics applications.

  C++ programming experience.

• n

  Comprehension of 6-Degrees of Freedom (6DoF) models and algorithms.

  Expertise in developing control algorithms for guidance, stabilization, or autopilot systems.

• n

  Experience with simulation tools (e.g., MATLAB/Simulink) and real-time control implementation.

• n

  Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with others.

  Ability to work within our company and team culture.

• n

  Must be a US and able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret-level security clearance.

  Familiarity with any military-related GNC systems is a plus.
