Job Summary:
An Account Manager manages relationships with key clients, which often include automotive manufacturers, suppliers, or distributors. An Account Manager plays a vital role in driving sales growth & profitability, maintaining client satisfaction, and ensuring the company's competitiveness in the market. They combine strong interpersonal skills with strategic thinking and industry knowledge to achieve these objectives.
Job Responsibilities:
- Client Relationship Management: responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with existing clients. This involves regular communication, understanding client needs, and ensuring client satisfaction with the company's products and services.
- Account Management: oversees all aspects of client accounts, including commercial management, contract negotiation, pricing, and order management. They ensure that contracts are fulfilled according to agreed-upon terms and that any issues or concerns raised by clients are addressed promptly.
- Business Development: identify opportunities for growth within existing client accounts and actively seek out new business opportunities. This may involve researching market trends, identifying potential clients, and developing strategies to expand the company's customer base within the automotive industry.
- Product Knowledge: leveraging an in-depth understanding of the company's automotive parts, effectively communicate the features and benefits of the company's products to clients and provide technical support as needed.
- Collaboration with Internal Teams: work closely with internal departments such as sales, marketing, engineering, and production to ensure alignment between client needs and company capabilities. This collaboration may involve coordinating product development, addressing quality concerns, or resolving logistics issues.
- Customer Service and Support: serve as the primary point of contact for clients and are responsible for addressing any inquiries, concerns, or issues that may arise. Providing excellent customer service and support is crucial for maintaining long-term relationships and fostering customer loyalty.
- Market Analysis and Forecasting: monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and market demand for automotive parts. Based on this analysis, they provide insights and recommendations to senior management regarding sales strategies, product development, and market expansion opportunities.
- Sales Reporting and Analysis: tracks sales performance, prepare sales reports, and analyze data to identify areas for improvement and opportunities for growth. They may also be responsible for forecasting sales projections and setting targets for their accounts.
- A bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, sales, engineering, or a related field is required. Specialized Training: Courses or certifications related to sales, account management, negotiation, and automotive technology would be beneficial.
- Sales Experience: Minimum 4+ years of prior experience in sales, particularly in the automotive industry or manufacturing sector, is highly valued. This could include roles such as sales representative, account executive, or business development manager.
- Account Management Experience: Experience in managing client accounts, handling negotiations, and ensuring customer satisfaction is crucial. Candidates should demonstrate a track record of building and maintaining strong relationships with clients.
- Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with automotive parts manufacturing processes, supply chain dynamics, and market trends is advantageous. Experience working with automotive OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers) or Tier 1 suppliers is highly desirable.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential for effectively interacting with clients, presenting proposals, and negotiating contracts.
- Negotiation Skills: Account Managers must be adept negotiators, capable of securing favorable terms for the company while maintaining positive relationships with clients.
- Relationship Building: The ability to build and nurture long-term relationships with clients is critical. Account Managers should be proactive in understanding client needs and providing solutions to meet those needs.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills are valuable for evaluating market trends, assessing sales performance, and identifying opportunities for growth within client accounts.
