Job Description
Key Responsibilities:

  • Work alongside mold change teams, ensuring efficient, timely, and safe mold changes in alignment with production schedules.
  • Mentor and develop process technicians, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.
  • Conduct process studies and implement improvements to optimize cycle times, reduce waste, and enhance overall process efficiency.
  • Analyze scrap data, identify root causes of scrap, and develop and implement strategies to reduce scrap rates and improve product quality.
  • Collaborate with the maintenance team to ensure equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
  • Provide technical expertise in troubleshooting molding process issues and implementing corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements, promoting a safe work environment.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, quality, and engineering, to support new product launches and process changes.
  • Prepare and present reports on process performance, scrap reduction efforts, and other key metrics to management.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, preferably Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a molding or manufacturing environment, preferably in the automotive industry.
  • Proven leadership experience with the ability to manage and motivate teams, including process technicians.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience in process optimization, scrap reduction, and continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma).
  • Knowledge of mold design, mold change procedures, and injection/compression molding processes.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite and familiarity with ERP systems.
