Seeking custodian for full time 2nd shift position. Must be available to work weekends. Custodian positions are 260 days per year. Must have high school diploma or GED. Experience preferred, but not required.
General Cleaning and Maintenance:
- Cleaning: Dusting, mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, and buffing floors.
- Restroom Maintenance: Cleaning and sanitizing restrooms, restocking supplies (paper towels, soap, etc.).
- Trash Removal: Emptying trash receptacles and ensuring proper disposal.
- Window and Surface Cleaning: Washing windows, walls, woodwork, and blinds.
- Furniture and Fixture Maintenance: Dusting and cleaning desks, tables, lockers, and other furniture.
- Shampooing/Steam Cleaning: Cleaning carpets and rugs.
Security and Safety:
- Building Security: Locking and unlocking doors and windows, monitoring building activities, and ensuring the safety of students and staff.
- Emergency Preparedness: Assisting with emergency procedures, such as lockdowns or evacuations.
Minor Maintenance and Repairs:
- Equipment Maintenance: Performing minor maintenance on custodial equipment (e.g., changing vacuum cleaner belts, bags).
- Light Bulb Replacement: Changing light bulbs and other minor repairs.
- Fixture and Furniture Repair: Repairing minor damage to school fixtures and furniture.
Event Support:
- Set-up and Clean-up: Assisting with set-up and clean-up for school events, such as assemblies, athletic events, and meetings.
- Arranging Furniture: Arranging chairs, desks, and other furniture for events.
Other Responsibilities:
- Inventory Management: Maintaining an inventory of cleaning supplies.
- Communication: Reporting needed repairs or maintenance issues to appropriate personnel.
- Grounds Maintenance: Assisting with grounds maintenance tasks, such as picking up debris and shoveling snow.
- All other duties as assigned by the building school principal.
