Overview:
nA pioneering organization in the clean technology sector is seeking a Lead Electrical Engineer to support the development, testing, and validation of electrical instrumentation and control systems for chemical process equipment and facilities. This role contributes to advancing carbon-free energy technologies targeting hard-to-decarbonize industries such as maritime transport and stationary power .
nKey Responsibilities:
n- n
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define electrical system requirements and develop specifications aligned with performance, safety, and regulatory standards. n
- Conduct detailed electrical design and calculations for power distribution, cable/conduit/tray layouts, and grounding systems using industry-standard tools. n
- Develop wiring diagrams for sensors (e.g., pressure transducers, RTDs, flow meters, level switches) and actuators (e.g., compressors, VFDs, valves, mass flow controllers). n
- Produce instrumentation documentation including indexes, datasheets, cable schedules, panel layouts, loop drawings, and location plans. n
- Select, configure, and test low- and high-voltage instrumentation components. n
- Design and assemble electrical cabinets, junction boxes, and harnesses; support factory and site acceptance testing. n
- Commission and maintain electrical and control systems for testing environments. n
- Develop and validate interface circuits between instruments and PLC I/O modules. n
- Execute test plans to ensure compliance with specifications and standards. n
- Interface with suppliers and manufacturers for component sourcing and issue resolution. n
- Provide operational support by troubleshooting electrical systems and coordinating with vendors and engineering teams. n
Minimum Qualifications:
n- n
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering or a related discipline. n
- 10+ years of experience in electrical/electronic, instrumentation, and control systems engineering. n
- Hands-on experience with industrial equipment such as motors, compressors, pumps, heaters, valves, flow controllers, and gas analyzers. n
- Proficiency in schematic design software (e.g., SOLIDWORKS Electrical, Lucidchart). n
- Experience with PLC I/O mapping, single-line diagrams, and enclosure/harness design. n
- Background in electrical systems design and maintenance for lab or production facilities. n
- Strong communication skills and ability to thrive in dynamic environments. n
Qualifications:
n- n
- 5+ years of experience designing systems in accordance with NEC, IEC, ANSI standards. n
- 10+ years of experience in process instrumentation and control within petrochemical or pharmaceutical sectors. n
- Familiarity with industrial PLCs, SCADA systems, and field bus protocols (e.g., CANBUS, PROFINET, EtherCAT). n
- Proven ability to work independently and produce high-quality engineering documentation. n
- Demonstrated initiative and technical problem-solving skills. n
