- Preferred: High School graduate or equivalent
- Good communicating and reasoning skills.
- Must possess a Texas operator's or class C driver's license and be insurable by the District.
- One (1) year experience in cleaning methods and procedures, maintenance repairs, security and plant operation.
- Demonstrate supervisory ability.
- Demonstrate a willingness to work overtime if necessary to ensure that extra-curricular and school rental requirements are satisfied and in the event emergency situations arise.
- Demonstrate willingness to work flexible hours when needed.
- Ability to communicate with the Principal and school staff so the necessary support requirements for educational programs may be provided.
- Ability to communicate with persons at all levels in the school community.
- Ability to communicate, delegate and work with co-workers in a cooperative manner.
- Ability and willingness to work any shift.

Reports directly to the Evening Head Custodian.
Responsibilities:
- Conform to all Board Policies and Procedures, Administrative directives, and Departmental Rules and Regulations.
- Ensure all Board Policies and Procedures, Administrative Directives and Departmental Rules and Regulations are adhered to by all custodial staff.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the building and grounds in all respects.
- Assist the Evening Head Custodian in communication with Campus Coordinator regarding custodial maintenance activities so not to interfere with any curricular and extra curricular activities during scheduled duty hours. Make the school and its facilities available as instructed.
- Cooperate with staff and students to harmoniously achieve the purposes of the schools.
- Operate the heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems.
- Perform minor maintenance.
- Advise the Principal, Custodial Area Supervisor and the Evening Head Custodian at all times of repair, maintenance and building safety issues.
- Direct assigned custodial staff in the performance of duties.
- Fulfill the Evening Head Custodian position on a temporary basis as needed.
- Provide supplementary on the job training required to prepare facility for a clean and safe learning environment.
- Carry out preventive maintenance as directed.
- Work in cooperation with the Evening Head Custodian to assist the Custodial Area Supervisor in implementing custodial work schedules.
- Work in cooperation with the Evening Head Custodian and the Custodial Area Supervisor in updating the facilities activity calendar. •
- Arrange for physical requirements for school rental, dances and other activities~
- Assist the Evening Head Custodian in the supervision of efficient and proper use of supplies, maintaining the system of stock control.
- Assist Evening Head Custodian in maintaining preventive maintenance logs and other records as required.
- Daily spot check building to ensure quality standards have been met. ( 10% - 25% of work day)
- Report incomplete work to Evening Head Custodian as instructed.
- Meet with the Principal and/or Campus Coordinator as needed to review daily programs requiring custodial support.
- Assist Evening Head Custodian with substitute custodian orientation.
- Communicate with the evening shift custodians any and all information necessary.
- Communicate with Evening Head Custodian and the Custodial Area Supervisor any and all necessary information from custodians, teachers, Principal and other staff.
- Perform custodial duties as outlined in work schedule. (75%-90o/o of work day)
- Ability to work evening shift as needed.
- Perform other duties as required for the daily operation of the school.
- Lifting (heavy, 45 lbs. or over), carrying (heavy, 45 lbs, or over), stooping, walking, climbing (stairs, ladders, scaffold, ramps), balancing, crouching, kneeling, pulling, crawling, working in confined areas, pushing, reaching, repetitive hand motions, visual acuity, driving (car, truck, bus).
- Outside temperature extremes, noises, vibrating, slippery surfaces, sunlight, works around moving objects, kneeling, chemical exposure (asbestos, fumes, vapors, gases, dusts, smoke, etc.). Inside humidity extremes, low or intense illumination, microwaves, uneven surfaces, works with hands in water, works around machinery with moving parts, works alone, prolonged or irregular hours, biological exposure (insects, mold, fungi, bacteria, animals, plants, etc.)
