Geo-Logic Associates (GLA) is a privately-held, multidisciplinary, geologic, geotechnical, hydrogeologic, civil, and environmental consulting firm. Our highly experienced professionals manage projects through 29 US office locations and an office in Peru.
GLA is currently seeking a part-time or full-time Senior Environmental Professional with a strong background in earth sciences and geology to lead project delivery and drive business development across our multidisciplinary practice.
The ideal candidate will bring both technical expertise and proven experience in managing client relationships and winning work. This position requires the ability to collaborate effectively with professionals across all GLA offices and service areas, while also serving as a trusted advisor to clients in the public and private sectors.
Office Location: St. Charles, Illinois
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and support business development activities, including developing strategic client relationships, identifying new opportunities, preparing winning proposals, and participating in project interviews.
- Serve as project manager and technical lead for environmental due diligence and remediation projects, including Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments.
- Act as primary client contact on major projects, ensuring delivery of high-quality work, effective communication, and regulatory compliance.
- Interface with regulatory agencies, providing leadership in regulatory negotiations, permitting strategies, and compliance documentation.
- Lead and manage complex subsurface investigations including the oversight of drilling contractors, soil and groundwater sampling, borehole logging, monitoring well installations, aquifer testing, and hydrogeologic characterization.
- Interpret and review technical documents such as engineering drawings, geologic cross-sections, site plans, and aerial imagery to support site assessment and design.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science, or related field
- Minimum of 10 years of experience is desired
- Knowledge of Illinois EPA Site Remediation Program and Leaking Underground Storage Tank programs
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Comfort speaking with clients and regulators, and possession of strong presentation skills
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Self-starter and problem solver
- Be eligible to work in the United States
- Possess a valid driver's license and maintain a driving record acceptable to our insurer
- Pass a pre-employment physical and drug screening
