nPosition Summary
nResponsible for reliability strategies, design systems and providing engineering advice to allow the Maintenance Department to cost effectively achieve plant availability, reliability requirements, comply with all relevant and statutory legislation and meet the requirements of all internal standards and procedures.
nEmploys Process Machinery experience to support rotating equipment reliability strategies; provides systems and engineering advice to allow the Maintenance Department to cost effectively achieve plant availability and reliability requirements, complies with all relevant and statutory legislation and meet the requirements of all internal standards and procedures.
nPosition Responsibilities
nWorks under general direction from the Reliability Supervisor and is responsible for performing detailed reliability/engineering studies and detailed calculations of Rotating Machinery components.
nApplies Rotating Machinery experience to recommend paths forward on maintenance plans.
nOriginates and develops analysis methods for determining reliability of components, equipment and processes.
nMaintains lifecycle evaluations of Rotating Equipment to proactively determine, in a timely fashion, opportunities for dealing with time-based maintenance and/or equipment obsolescence.
nAcquires data and analyzes the data. Prepares diagrams, charts, drawings, calculations and reports for defining reliability problems and makes recommendations for improvements.
nCollects, analyzes, and contrasts condition monitoring system data to recommend action plans and evaluate conditions for a reliable and safe service.
nConducts analysis of reliability problems, investigates to determine the solutions required for the situation, taking into consideration the cost limitations for equipment up/down time, repair/replacement costs and availability of materials/equipment.
nDetermines the cost advantages of alternatives for developing action plans to comply with internal/external customer demands for reliability processes/equipment to avoid failures.
nConsiders impact of costs on recommended action plans for avoiding/correcting problems during the design phase or remedial action for correcting reliability problems on installed equipment.
nAdvises on the development and content of the Preventative Maintenance program (PM's), focused on Rotating Equipment.
nAssists with the development of the long-term maintenance strategy for the USA LLC assets.
nFacilitates investigations to determine root cause of failure for all serious, major and potentially major reliability incidents.
nReviews engineering design packages to ensure all maintenance requirements are met, as required.
nProvides input into the capital and major maintenance plan.
nRecommends and evaluates risk for spare parts strategies, utilizing the global experience to optimize inventories and expenditure.
nStays informed of developments and issues with new products and standards used in chemical plants and similar industries through technical literature and conferences.
nSupports Rotating Equipment projects during TARs and capital projects, as required
nDevelops training modules for discipline specific learning.

nPosition Qualifications
nBachelor of Science Degree in Engineer, Mechanical Engineering preferred; or other relevant Engineering discipline.
n10 years' experience in chemical manufacturing facilities.
n10 years' experience with large Rotating Equipment (>25,000 Kw).
n10 years' steam turbines and centrifugal Compressor maintenance experience.
nExperience with Reliability techniques and analysis.
nExperience with development and implementation of Strategy.
nExperience with Predictive and Preventative Maintenance programs.
nExperience with Root Cause Analysis.
nKnowledgeable in Dry Gas Seal and conditioning system design, operational parameters and troubleshooting.
nBroad knowledge in Oil Seal, Lube Oil and Control Oil systems, operational parameters and troubleshooting.
nProficient in computer software such as MS Excel, MS Word, and Maximo (or other similar ERP).
nExperience in internal consulting and presentations, including strong interpersonal communication skills.
