Position Overview:

You will also guide a team of senior engineers and contribute directly to manufacturing process optimization, tooling validation, and producibility improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical guidance to a team of three experienced engineers
- Support design reviews and identify tooling requirements for post-production modifications
- Develop and maintain Tool Usage Instructions and manufacturing sequences
- Lead root cause investigations and drive continuous improvement initiatives
- Review and optimize product designs for manufacturability and cost-effectiveness
- Coordinate with internal teams and external suppliers to support tool design, first-time tool prove-outs, and production ramp-up
- Contribute to proposal estimates and support earned value management efforts
- Define and drive process improvement strategies to streamline production workflows
- Manage non-conformance reviews and support MRB activity
- Travel up to 25% may be required
- This is a 100% on-site role in Redondo Beach, CA
- U.S. Citizenship required
- Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline and 8+ years of relevant experience ; or Master's degree with 6+ years of experience
- Strong working knowledge of engineering drawings , GD&T , and mechanical assembly processes
- Hands-on experience with tooling development, manufacturing documentation, and discrepancy review/disposition
- Experience with technical writing , problem-solving , and continuous improvement
- Familiarity with training or guiding technicians on technical processes
- Ability to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance
- Advanced degree in manufacturing engineering or related STEM field
- Aerospace or defense industry experience, preferably in military production programs
- Familiarity with Manufacturing Readiness Reviews , SAP , MES , or model-based engineering tools
- Project management or earned value management (EVM) experience
- Ability to communicate effectively with leadership, suppliers, and multi-disciplinary teams
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP systems
- Independent, self-directed problem solver with strong initiative
