Job OverviewnnAs a member of our Protection & Control Engineering Services Team, you will be responsible for creating substation drawing packages including one-line drawings, three-line drawings, DC schematics, wiring diagrams, cable schedules, component layouts, electrical plans, and detailed assembly drawings that will be drafted using AutoCAD® and MicroStation. Our P&C Engineering Services teams also perform fault analysis and coordination studies, SCADA settings, along with developing settings for most station relays.nn#LI-CH1nnA Day In The LifennInterpret customer specifications and provide a design which meets all requirementsnUnderstand the theories and fundamentals of electrical circuits and related componentsnPerform QC checks of complete drawing and relay setting packagesnCreate project transmission and distribution specific protection and control schematic diagrams for large scale projectsnLead and develop complete and detailed customer site visits and technical scopes for projects which meet customer requirementsnCreate protection and control schematic diagrams from a 1-Line diagramnCreate site specific 1-Line diagramsnUpdate/revise existing customer substation legacy Brownfield schematics and wiring diagramsnProvide guidance to engineers on technical issuesnPerform all Project Management activities and lead large projects without supervisionnCreate and revise RTU Point assignments (RPA’s)nPerform transmission and distribution protection and control relay setting calculations and coordination studies including breakers, transformers, bus protection, capacitor bank, and reactor settingsnRecognize a need for, and champion process improvementsnDevelop training and mentor Engineers, P&C Designers, and TechniciansnCustomer visits (travel approximately 20% of the time)nnWhat will help you thrive in this role?nnBachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology; P.E. license or P.E. track preferrednMinimum seven years of Transmission and Distribution Protection and Control related experiencenThorough understanding of the function, operation and application of T&D relay protection functionsnThorough understanding of the operation and function of all substation equipmentnKnowledge and understanding of the specifications, structure, programming and configuration of the following control devices is also beneficial:nno Microprocessor Based Protection and Control Relaysnno RS-232/RS485/Fiber optic/Ethernet Communicationnno RTU Equipmentnno HMInno SCADA SystemsnnAdvanced working knowledge of MS Office SuitenStrong attention to detailnProven analytical & problem-solving skillsnnHubbell IncorporatednnHubbell creates critical infrastructure solutions that power our customers, communities, people and the planet.
