Crossed Keys Estate is looking for a Line Cook to join our kitchen team in a local restaurant business! We are seeking passionate individuals to bring the same level of care and hard work that the family brings to each event. With up to 100 events per year, we pride ourselves on a unique personal touch and excellent service.
nSummary of Position: Accurately and efficiently cook all applicable menu items as well as prepare and portion food products prior to cooking. Also perform other duties in the areas of food and final plate preparation including plating and garnishing of cooked items and preparing appropriate garnishes for all hot menu item plates.
nDuties & Responsibilities:
nPrepares a variety of menu items for cooking in broilers, ovens, grills, fryers and a variety of other kitchen equipment.
nAssumes 100% responsibility for quality of products served.
nKnows and complies consistently with our standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards and kitchen rules, policies and procedures.
nStocks and maintains sufficient levels of food products at line stations to assure a smooth service period.
nPortions food products prior to cooking according to standard portion sizes and recipe specifications.
nMaintains a clean and sanitary workstation area including tables, shelves, grills, broilers, fryers, pasta cookers, sauté burners, convection oven, flat top range and refrigeration equipment.
nPrepares items for broiling, grilling, frying, sautéing or other cooking methods by portioning, battering, breading, seasoning and/or marinating.
nFollows proper plate presentation and garnish setup for all dishes.
nHandles, stores and rotates all products properly.
nAssists in food prep assignments during off-peak periods as needed
nCloses the kitchen properly and follows the closing checklist for kitchen stations. Assists others in closing the kitchen.
nPerforms other related duties as assigned by the Kitchen Manager or manager-on-duty.
nQualifications:
nPrior Line Cook/Prep Cook experience required
nExperience in a restaurant or event venue a plus
nAbility to stand/walk for duration of shift
